Accounts Assistant - Public Sector
Urgent Requirement!
At Staffline Recruitment we currently seeking an accounts assistant for our client, a large public sector body with Dublin City Centre offices. This is a super opportunity for an accounts assistant with 2-3 years experience in a busy finance environment to secure a career in the public sector and join a dynamic and supportive team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing effective financial administration systems and carrying out administrative and financial checks on grant expenditure. The Accounts Assistant will also carry out general clerical administrative duties as required by their department.
Responsibilities will include:
- Review financial reports submitted for accuracy and completeness
- Carry out administrative and financial checks on grant expenditure to ensure all information submitted is compliant with requirements
- Ensure financial/non-financial data is correct and consistent
- Notify errors or omissions to appropriate team members and/or other relevant parties
- Provide finance inputs to presentation materials for seminars, conferences and training
- Deal with and responding to internal/external queries and information requests
- Assist with User Acceptance Test process on Pobal Finance reporting portals as and when required
- Assist in payment of funds via payment set up and other data inputs to Sun Accounts System to facilitate payment run process
- Provide administrative back up and support as required
Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years work experience in financial accounts/ financial administration
- Relevant third level finance qualification (e.g. Certificate, Diploma, accounting technician/recognised payroll qualification), or equivalent is desirable
- Experience in efficiently managing a busy
- Strong analytical skills & attention to
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks
- Computer literacy particularly in CRM systems, SharePoint, and MS packages e.g. Excel, WORD and Outlook
- An understanding of the operation of databases

This role will be offered as a contract basis initially until December 2021. A salary in region of €26,298 plus benefits will be payable to successful candidates.
