Assistant Waste Supervisor required for our client in the Larne Area - £13.18ph - ongoing role Mon-Sat 39hpw (over 5 days)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible to the Waste Operations Supervisor for the supervision of the Council's Refuse Collection, Recycling Collection, Street Cleaning and Public Conveniences cleaning services.
Ensure that service specifications are fully met, quality and financial targets are achieved.
Assist with the allocation of resources within designated area of responsibility and ensure leadership, monitoring of performance, continuous service improvement and quality of service delivery in compliance with current legislation and regulations.
Applicants must have a minimum of 3 GCSE's, Grade C or above to include Maths and English Language, and be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have one year's supervisory experience within an operational service area.
Alternatively, consideration may be given candidates who do not processes the required education qualification but can demonstrate, by providing personal and specific example(s), that they have two years' supervisory experience within an operational service area.
An understanding of the waste sector
An understanding of Health and Safety legislation including risk assessments and COSHH
An understanding of the main issues and developments affecting service delivery within the waste service portfolio (Refuse Collection, Recycling Collection, Street Cleaning and Public Convenience cleaning services).
Competent in the use a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office
A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post[i].
