Job description

Accountant required for a fixed term contract position in Cavan

Salary depending on experience

Duties

  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts including analysis
  • Responsibility for Product costing requirements through SAP for all sites
  • Manage the data for all sites in preparation for the annual standard cost roll out through liaising with the Procurement & Operational teams
  • Working with all the necessary departments to resolve variances and improve accuracy in the system
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts as required.
  • Review customer credit limits and aged balances
  • Provide Senior Managers detailed supporting data on reports and queries
  • Coordination of inventory counts, updating system for transactions, analysis of inventory turns and consumption
  • Provides support for inventory management, inventory reporting and coordinates the annual physical inventory counts and routine cycle counts, alongside the Accounting Manager. This includes the investigation of cycle counting variances and resolving issues.
  • Work with the audit team on the provision of all relevant schedules
  • Assist with SAP upgrades, testing and development.
  • Providing assistance to other member of the Finance team as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified part/qualified accountant with a minimum 2-year work experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced abilities in MS Excel and other MS Office programs, including generating reports.
  • Competent in all Microsoft packages, and in particular Excel
  • Experience of ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently
  • Occasional Travel may be required to US & other European sites.

Desirable Criteria

  • Costing experience
  • Experience in the use of manufacturing monitoring systems
