Admin Officer


Mon -Fri 37 hours

Job role

To maximise rental income by effective and efficient recovery of debt owing. To ensure that activities are designed to progress, reflect best practice and strive for continuous improvement of the service.


  • To contribute to the development and delivery of an excellent income recovery service.
  • Ensure that proper case notes are always up to date to provide a full audit trail of rent accounts details.
  • Maintain an accurate diary system of daily arrears recovery follow-up duties.
  • To undertake all aspects of income recovery court case preparation work and debt recovery case work, in accordance with current procedures.
  • To monitor tenant arrears on a weekly basis and provide comprehensive reports to managers
  • To ensure that ICT is used efficiently to improve the collection of rent, maintaining accurate information for client and audit purposes. Fully implement and utilise technology in all areas of work.
  • To ensure that services are delivered in accordance with policies and procedures to achieve annually agreed performance targets.
  • To liaise and maintain good working relationships with all relevant external agencies to ensure residents experiencing difficulties are referred appropriately for support.
  • To ensure details of entitlement, cancellation, suspensions, and overpayments are noted on the system.
  • To administer the housing database and to produce related reports for internal and external use as required.
  • To demonstrate a commitment to customer care, confidentiality and deliver services that are value for money.
  • To maintain effective working relationships with Universal Credit Centres and benefits agencies.


  • 1 year experience working in office administration Good understanding of the court/legal framework in relation to debtors Customer Facing Experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to performance targets
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
