Job description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Limavady require an Aerobics/ Dance Instructor(Healthy Towns - Actively Aging) to join their team.

Hours of work: Tuesday 10am - 11:30am

Hourly Rate: £20ph

Main Duties:

  1. In accordance with personal qualifications and role within the Unit, ensure the effective and positive delivery of the Service Unit Activity Programme in line with the level of instruction required, Customer needs and Service objectives.
  2. Carry out administrative duties in relation to the activity programme as deemed appropriate for the particular service provided as and when required.
  3. Adherence to standard operating procedures including all Council and Centre policies / procedures and knowledge of the emergency action plans relevant to each facility.
  4. When required, and following adequate training, assist with the safe handling, erecting, dismantling and storage of equipment required for the activity / class
  5. Responsible for ensuring accidents / incidents are dealt with efficiently and promptly while accurately recording details in respect of potential insurance claims. Relating all details of incidents to Line Managers when necessary.
  6. Report any defects or damage to equipment or building to appropriate personnel in order to ensure problems are dealt with and do not pose a risk to other employees and/or customers.
  7. Deliver high quality cost effective services.
  8. Continuously improve the Council's overall performance within the activity programme through contributing to programme reviews, attending performance appraisal meetings.
  9. Maintain the highest standards of customer care within the activity programme and facilities, dealing with potential and existing users including enquiries and complaints.
  10. Enforce regulations, which directly impact on the Health & Safety and well-being of all patrons taking part in activities in the Council's facilities.
  11. Provide evidence of on-going continuous improvement through Learning and Development as deemed appropriate in the Sports & Leisure Industry for Coaches / Instructors in the employee's area of expertise.
  12. Promote value for money, service excellence and equality in the delivery of services and employment.
  13. The post holder should be efficient in planning ahead, managing time well, being on time, being cost conscious, thinking of better ways to do things.



  1. Level 2 National Governing Body Coaching Award
  2. At least 6 months experience of coaching young people


  1. First Aid qualification (Public)
  2. Have attended Safeguarding Young People workshop
