Assembly Fitter Supervisor



The Client: Located near Newry, the company are a dedicated supplier to the concrete industry, including design, supply & installation

The Role: The ideal candidate should:

  • Managing safe working practices and ensuring high environmental standards within the team.
  • Excellent Man Management skills.
  • Must have a hands-on approach to work.
  • Possess a positive work ethic whilst possessing a strong mechanical knowledge
  • Have an ability to read and understand 2D/3D engineering drawings
  • Be capable of leading and managing a team to produce a high standard of work within a specific time frame
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure Lean Manufacturing procedures are incorporated
  • Organise daily work schedules to maximise output
  • Complete employee performance feedback and reviews
  • Ability to schedule work, based on budget costs.
  • Ensuring that production is working to required standards in a zero defects culture, following standard work. Follow production procedure and ensure all jobs are inspected and meet the required standard prior to parts leaving the workshop.
  • Must be willing and capable of mentoring junior staff members so that they reach their full potential.
  • An understanding of Standard Work Instructions and Problem-Solving using Root Cause Analysis.

Hours of work: Full-time


  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • CSR/IPAF Cards
  • Recent and demonstrable Conveyor / Automation Systems Experience
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent organisational, time management and people skills
  • A rounded knowledge of risk and compliance and demonstrable planning and project management skills
  • Previous assembly fitting experience within the quarry, recycling or heavy plant industry would be advantageous with knowledge of conveyors and hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.

In Return:

  • £15 - £17 p/hr based on experience
