Job description

Assistant Business Analyst - Antrim - Starting Salary £22500 - 37.5hpw - Permanent Role

Reporting to the Customer Billing Manager and taking direction from the Revenue Protection Lead, the Assistant Business Analyst will assist with data analytics duties within the Billing Department. The post holder will play a key role in developing new strategies for identifying situations where revenue is potentially at risk, and ensuring all customers are billed for the energy they have consumed. The post holder will assist with all revenue protection and assurance activities ensuring robust processes are in place to minimise revenue leakage.

Key Priorities:

 Provide enhanced data analytics within the business, and deliver improvements in reporting mechanisms for identifying potential revenue risk

 Ability to manipulate data to produce meaningful output

 Develop strategies to identify billing errors and reconciliation of data discrepancies

 Restitution and credit management of loss of revenue

 Assist with system improvements and business changes

 Gain thorough knowledge of market procedures and industry best practice relevant to billing and revenue protection operations

 Work closely with other internal departments to enhance procedures and policies

 Ensure compliance with legal, licence and commercial requirements

 Any other duties as directed by the Customer Billing Manager or Revenue Protection Lead

Qualifications/Requirements:

Essential:

 Relevant degree in a numeric or business related discipline

 Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills

 Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

 Excellent communication skills

 Experience in identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions

 Proven ability to prioritise tasks, undertaking analysis on a routine and non-routine basis

Desirable:

 Previous experience in a financial environment in an analytical role

 Knowledge of the energy industry
