ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER - SUPPORTED HOUSING

FULL TIME - PERMANENT

40 HOURS PER WEEK

£30,000 PER ANNUM

Job Purpose:

To effectively manage the delivery of a supported living service in accordance with agreed aims, objectives, and standards to the optimum benefit of service users.

To deputise in the absence of the Service manager.

SERVICE DELIVERY:

  • To fulfill the role of the registered manager in line with regulatory requirements & standards
  • To monitor the overall performance in relation to service delivery
  • To be responsible for overseeing the welfare & development of all service users
  • To ensure thats individual programmes, care plans & risk assessments are prepared & implemented for each service user
  • To ensure thats a full programme of occupational, recreational & social care activities is available for each resident to meet individual needs
  • To ensure that a minimum of an annual review of service users is completed
  • To liase as appropriate with service users families, friends & advocates to ensure the wellbeing of each service user
  • To attend & participate at all multi agency, multi disciplinary meetings as idenitified by your line manager
  • To establish effective systems for liasing with relevant Health & Social Crae Trusts
  • To ensure that the service achieves all care & recording standards as idenitified by Organisational & Statutory Authorities including RQIA & Supporting People.
  • To co-operate fully with internal & external monitoring inspections & visits & respond accordingly
  • To ensure adherance to organisational policies & procedures
  • To ensure staff understanding & application of policy & ensure that training/advice is provided to enable effective policy implementation

STAFF EFFECTIVENESS

  • To effectively line manage a team of senior support workers to ensure completion of objectives
  • To participate in the recruitment of staff in line with organisational requirements
  • To ensure there is a process for regular supervision for all staff
  • To ensure there is a process for each member of staff to have an annual appraisal of performance, which incorporates both a review and plan to meet training and development needs.
  • To ensure that those employees who are left in charge of a unit are competent to do so and competency assessments are in place and kept under review.
  • To promote the development of effective teamwork within the service by establishing good communication systems, including regular team meetings, Microsoft teams.
  • To implement Mainstay DRP's staff disciplinary and grievance procedures.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

  • To establish and agree with the Manager, explicit service standards, derived from aims and objectives of the service or contractual agreements.
  • To promote accountability to service users and funding partners by the production of regular reports, an annual report, and participation in advisory and focus groups.
  • To deliver positive outcomes through operational plan and KPI'S.
  • To deliver quarterly performance reviews with staff and ensure each senior member of staff has a work plan

PROMOTION OF SERVICE PROFILE & PUBLIC AWARENESS

  • To promote good public relations in the locality.
  • To produce clear, accessible information for staff and stakeholders.
  • To be prepared, in consultation and with the support of the Chief Executive and Manager, to give media interviews, provide press reports or journal articles, to enhance the profile of the Service
  • To support staff where they may be involved in such activity.
  • To give public talks or presentations to enhance awareness of Mainstay DRP activities and support staff in making presentations.

FINANCIAL REPSPONSIBILITIES

  • To participate in the completion of monthly salaries, forwarding relevant salary details to the finance department within the agreed time frames.
  • To safeguard the service users' monies.
  • To ensure procedures are implemented, reviewed and monitored around service users finances.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • 40 Hours per week - Permanent Post
  • Your hours will be on a rota basis to ensure appropriate on call cover within the service to include on call duties at weekends and holiday periods.
  • Your post will cover Short Breaks to include any future developments within that service
  • Pay £30,000
  • 8 Bank Holidays per year
  • 25 annual Leave days per year
  • Statutory Sick Pay
  • Training Opportunities
