Job description

Staffline Recruitment has been appointed as HSCNI's recruitment partner of choice for Admin, clerical and Support Services.

BELSL / Band 3 Administrator
Rate of Pay: £10.09phr

Location: Belfast City Hospital

Hours: 37.5hrs per week

Duration: Ongoing

Job Summary:

The post holder will provide administrative and clerical support to the Appointments Service. Preference will be given to those with experience of hospital systems such as PAS, Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities:

  • Deal with Telephone queries from patients and other relevant personnel and at all times maintain a courteous and pleasant manner
  • Book, Cancel and Reschedule appointments as and when required
  • Maintenance of Waiting Lists ensuring patient details are relevant and accurate
  • Booking of Interpreters, Ambulances and other patient related services
  • Maintaining and updating of patient demographic details on written and electronic records
  • Ensure patient information is up to date and relevant
  • Ensure clinic capacity is utilised through close monitoring of available clinic slots taking appropriate action where possible in partnership with the Clinic Co-ordinator
  • Request and print letters, documents, labels and reports using related electronic systems
  • Liaise with various staff/departments to ensure patient appointments are booked within specified time frames
  • Assist with the training of new staff as and when required
  • Provide cover to other Appointments staff for periods of leave
  • Participate in yearly development reviews and staff team meetings
  • Recording of data for statistical purposes
  • Any other duties, appropriate to the grade which may be assigned as the role develops

Qualifications & Experience:

*4 GCSE's at grade C or above to include English Language or equivalent qualification and 1 year's clerical/administration experience. or *NVQ Level II in Administration and 1year's clerical/administration experience. or *A minimum of three year's

Knowledge & Skills:

Good communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team The flexibility to work in a changing environment.
