Band 3 Environmental Cleanliness Supervisor
Staffline are currently recruiting for a Band 3 Environmental Cleanliness Supervisor to work with one of their Public Sector Clients in Belfast. Applicants must hold a valid drivers licence.
The Environmental Cleanliness Supervisor will support the Environmental & Vehicle Cleanliness Manager in the delivery of high quality cleaning services. The post holder will provide a range of Supervisory duties domestic / cleaning / housekeeping staff. The post-holder will be expected to deliver a high quality service, through the effective and efficient use of resources. The post holder will also ensure standards are maintained through regular supervision.
Devise / amend staffing allocations to ensure robust cover and value for money within area of responsibility.
To support the Environmental and Vehicle Cleanliness Manager in the day to day management of any cleaning contracts, cleaning contractors and cleaning operatives.
To support the Environmental and Vehicle Cleanliness Manager in the day to day management of Service Level Agreements and cleaning operatives provided by other Trusts.
To coordinate the provision of equipment, supplies and consumables and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
Inspect NIAS premises to ensure they are cleaned to high standards.
Identify losses of equipment and record / report these in line with Trust procedures
To provide any data relating to staff, which may be required by the Manager, for example input hours, sickness levels etc.
To check all staff time sheets to ensure that all hours are correctly and accurately recorded for payment.
To supervise, control and issue consumables/materials and maintain appropriate stock records.
Conduct return to work interviews and take appropriate action.
Participate in the Selection & Recruitment of new staff and deliver a comprehensive departmental induction.
Maintain personnel files relating to performance, annual leave, attendance, training etc.
Address performance issues with team and take remedial action as required.
To ensure all complaints are dealt with in a timely and sensitive fashion and to participate in investigation of such complaints in accordance with Trust Policies.
Partake in investigative processes in accordance with Management and Trust policies.
Ensure staff are fully trained within their area of responsibility and periodically conduct competency checks.
Regularly inspect cleaning equipment to ensure that it is properly used, stored and in good state of repair.
To review / inspect work carried out by contractors e.g. cleaning contractors, window cleaning contract, female hygiene, pest control etc.
To report any structural or fabric repairs e.g. light fittings, carpet repairs, peeling paintwork etc
Two years' experience as a Support Services Worker in a Healthcare/Service Industry or Public Service organisation
- 18 years of age or over
- Ability to work shifts including evening, weekends & public holidays
- Be able to work at different locations if required
- Full UK driving licence with access to a car on appointment
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of Staff
- Able to motivate, encourage and challenge staff when required
- Proficient in the use of IT packages i.e. Microsoft
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member
- Ability to cope with difficult situations in a calm and professional manner as part of a team in a patient/user focused environment
Knowledge & Understanding:
Knowledge of the role of an Environmental Cleanliness Supervisor
Knowledge of Health and Safety
