Band 3 Higher Clerical Officer required on a temporary basis based in Magherafelt
Role: Band 3 Higher Clerical Officer
Rate of Pay: £12.31
Location: Magherafelt
Hours: 37.5hrs
Duration: Temporary ongoing
Main duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as receptionist for the department.
- Making appointments and controlling the appointment system.
- To undertake NIPACS safety lists as directed on a daily / weekly basis.
- To check on a daily basis that Radiology recommendations are acted upon by the referrer.
- Acting as a main link for enquiries from within and outside the department.
- Dealing with patient related enquiries ensuring preservation of patient's confidentiality at all times.
- Dealing with complaints from patients and other departments.
- Participation in the induction and training of staff within the section and monitoring their progress / development in liaison with the Team Leader.
- Helping to maintain a high standard of confidentiality of information in line with current legislation.
- Be familiar with the rules and regulation applicable to the department.
- Treating each patient / staff member as an individual in terms of courtesy, confidentiality, kindness and sympathy.
- Participate in projects for the development of the Service as directed by senior officers.
- To work within the rules and regulations applicable to the department.
- To follow all Trust policies and protocols.
- To adhere to IR(ME)R 2000 within the department.
- To be willing to work extended days, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Attend mandatory training and training updates as required.
- Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade as directed by Senior Officers.
- Work in a co-operative and collaborative manner with other staff to ensure smooth running of imaging sessions.
- Report any incidents or concerns involving patients, staff or equipment.
- Participate in the Trust's appraisal conversations.
- Monitor and ensure levels of stock, linen etc. are maintained for the relevant departmental areas.
- Take receipt of deliveries and store items for use.
- Undertake end of year stocktaking as required.
- Dispose of waste in keeping with the Trust Policy on Waste Management.
- Participate in flexible working arrangements to include working on evenings/weekends and Bank Holidays subject to the needs of the Department.
- Work in a safe manner with regard to the use of Ionising Radiation complying with relevant Trust/Departmental policies.
- Participate and contribute to the Radiology Quality Management System, and corresponding Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) accreditation process.
- Undertake duties, which are required to ensure adequate standards of environmental hygiene and prevent cross infection
Essential:
- 5 GCSEs Grade A-C to include English & Maths or equivalent PLUS 1 years Clerical / Admin experience
Or
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C) Plus 2 years Clerical / Admin experience
- Equivalent qualifications considered.
