Band 3 Ward Clerk required on a temporary basis based in Antrim.
Role: Band 3 Ward Clerk - Theatres
Rate of Pay: £12.31ph
Location: Antrim
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 3 Months
Main duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage all admissions, discharges and transfers on the computer systems.
- Keep information flowing between hospital staff, patients, family members and other departments as appropriate. Responding to calls searching for patients on the system.
- Ensuring an adequate supply of stock, ordering and processing invoices via e-procurement.
- Input data to, and obtain information from a Computerised Patient Administration Systems at ward level, as requested by the Ward Manager; - Encompass/Paris/Epex/Webview.
- Prepare, charts and bed labels for all admissions; - printing wristbands
- Assisting nursing team with general office duties
- Update patients estimated discharge dates daily.
- Update ward clerk work queues and ensure all patient demographics are correct.
- Prepare and maintain documentation as part of Business Continuity Plan
- Cover other ward clerks during times of sick leave/annual leave etc.
- Liaise with medical records officers regarding Mental Health detention forms and deliver them promptly to Medical Records.
- Managing and maintaining ward schedulers
- Book/cancel Interpreters as required.
- Ensure correspondence for patients received via the postal service is distributed
Essential Criteria:
- 4 GCSE's to include English Language and Maths (Grade A-C or above) and 1 years' clerical experience in an office environment to include the use of ICT, Word Processing, Spreadsheets and E-mail.
OR
- 3 years' clerical experience in an office environment to include the use of ICT, Word Processing, Spreadsheets and E-mail
