Business Development Representative

Staffline Ireland are recruiting for a Business Development Representative on behalf of a leading engineering company. This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career with a forward thinking, dynamic company. The Business Development Representative will work with the marketing and sales team to generate prospect leads and promote company's range of product offerings and develop sales opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate and identify prospective leads and organisations within defined market segments using various sources
  • Further develop and qualify marketing leads by telephone, email, and other channels to promote the company's services
  • Explain the product and associated benefits to potential customers
  • Identifying and maximising key opportunities and managing multiple business development engagements to achieve a robust pipeline
  • Develop an understanding of the exact needs of the prospect and how company can assist
  • Make decisions on prospective leads readiness for sales
  • Liaise with sales representatives
  • Liaise with marketing representatives
  • Liaise with technical representatives for technical clarification on inbound requests
  • Schedule appointments for sales staff to meet prospective customers as appropriate
  • Obtain customer information including names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses from various sources
  • Record customer details including reaction to the product or service offered
  • Make a specified number of outbound requests each day by email and phone
  • Complete weekly reports on targets achieved i.e., emails sent, calls made, new prospects, new leads, leads sent to sales
  • Present to internal stakeholders' opportunities for improvements and noticeable trends in prospective behaviour, market change or other factors that impact business development
  • Keep activity logs & customer information up to date on CRM platform
  • Escalate any issues or complaints arising from calls
  • Co-ordinate across teams for information a prospect might require
  • Answer inbound requests via email or call from potential customers who are seeking further information and deal with accordingly
  • Any other duties role may involve

Person Specification:

  • 1 year's Sales Development/ Business Development Experience
  • Experience of working successfully in a professional environment
  • Ability to develop knowledge and an understanding of technical products, solutions, and services
  • Ability to adapt to new software applications, e.g., CRM if never used before
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications, Microsoft Office

Desirable Criteria:

  • Engineering / STEM background
  • Experience working with a CRM platform (if applicant can demonstrate ability to adapt to new software applications, then CRM experience not critical)
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and strategies
  • Relevant work experience in sales, marketing, promotions, or telemarketing

The Rewards

The successful Business Development Representative will enjoy a competitive salary circa £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience plus Commission.

Location

The Business Development Representative role will be based in Belfast with option of hybrid working.
