Job description

Our client based in East Belfast require a Buyer/Planner for a 3-6 month contract


Active involvement in the responsibilities of the Life Cycle Management of assigned small orders, including spares, from quote/order through to shipment

Act upon customer demand messages through the MRP system or otherwise to ensure material orders are raised to Suppliers in a timely manner

Expedite and de-expedite material requirements in line with customer and business demands

Drive effective daily management of suppliers

Tactical procurement of a range of products, goods and services as well as more strategic procurement and process improvement

Manage the most efficient and cost effective supply of products, goods and services ensuring quality and delivery lead times are adhered to

PCR / PCO completion and expediting

Manage sub-contractor requirements in line with regularly changing business demands

Support the planning of the Value Stream in line with plan, forecast, outlook and pulsing information

Support the scheduling of Value Stream and affected departments to ensure effective recognition and execution of daily / weekly / monthly business commitments

Flag, escalate and track projects that are late against agreed customer timelines, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders

Analysis of data contained within and outside of the ERP system to ensure accurate dating in line with commitment customer dates

Essential Criteria: - Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:-

· A minimum of 3 years' experience within a supply chain / planning role, at least 1 of which within a manufacturing / engineering / production environment

· Educated to at least A level or equivalent

· Demonstrable excellent IT skills, including MS Office

· Working knowledge and experience of an MRP system

· Demonstrable excellent communication and numerical skills, both written and verbal

Rate of pay: £15/hr

Hours of work - Monday to Thursday 8-4.30pm and Friday 8-1.30pm (37.5hrs)
