Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available with our client in the Magherafelt area for a Permanent Cleaner/Shunter.

The role holder will maintain the cleanliness of buses, deep cleaning buses to a PCV standard (interior and exterior), cleaning the yard and public facilities and transferring buses in the yard and between depots as required.

You will attend the training academy where you will be fully trained on all aspects of the role, including gaining your PCV licence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Wipe-down of touch points and electromagnetic spraying of fleet and facilities
* Ensure safe and well-managed vehicle parking in the yard
* Ensure vehicles are prepared, ready and easily accessible for run-out each day
* Prepare list of buses due for service and liaise with depot Inspectors about any bus defects and/or bus availability
* Carry out first use safety checks where necessary
* Wear appropriate safety wear and adhere to safety standards in the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
* Remove chewing gum and graffiti, clean windows and dashboards, brush, and mop floors daily
* Keep the wash area tidy and use the power hose daily
* Provide cover for School services as and when required
* Transfer buses from depot to depot and in the yard as required, including changes for bus breakdowns
* Clean other property, departure stands, toilets and the bus yard and grounds as required
* Open and close the depot gates when required * Keep a record of work and submit to the Inspector on a weekly basis
* Fuel buses and keep fuel records, maintain stocks of fuel, ad-blue, oil and cleaning material
* Any other reasonable duty as required by the Ancillary Supervisor/Inspector/Service Delivery Manager

Essential Criteria:
Must be Aged 21 and over (in order to be able to hold a PCV licence).
Minimum of two years driving experience after obtaining full driving licence.
Ability to provide a professional customer service to all customers.
Possess a full current driving licence.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Able to satisfy such medical standards as may apply to the post and be able to meet the national medical standards of fitness to drive.
Ability to work unsocial hours including early morning, late evening and weekend working.
Good local geographical knowledge (own town and district).

Desirable:
Experience using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Experience cleaning large vehicles.
Possess a PCV licence Possess a CPC driver qualification card or any modules
