Clerical Officer - Newtownabbey - Temporary Contract - £10.60
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
As a member of the Business Support Team, the Clerical Officer will be expected to contribute to the delivery of the Community Planning and Regeneration Business Plan.
As part of the team, the post holder will help provide comprehensive clerical /administrative services including efficient word processing and minuting service within the Community Planning and Regeneration Department. This consists of Community Development, Economic Development, Project Development Building Control and Property Services and the post will require flexibility working in a dynamic environment.
Provide a full range of administrative services to Officers across Community Planning and Regeneration Services including word processing and provide a confidential clerical service.
Maintain electronic diaries of appointments for Officers within the Community Planning and Regeneration Services section and book all necessary meeting rooms, equipment and catering arrangements.
Screen, re-direct or deal with all incoming calls for all sections within Community Planning and Regeneration.
To deal directly with the general public, both at reception and by telephone, and act as first contact point for Community Planning and Regeneration Services.
To minute monthly team meetings and facilitate paperless meetings, preparing and circulating agendas, minutes and other papers as necessary.
Type draft reports and grant applications for Community Planning and Regeneration Development Committees.
Deal directly with enquiries and bookings from the general public regarding the hiring of Community Centres, advising customers on pricing policies, procedures and insurance requirements of Council facilities.
Use a full range of MS Office packages including spreadsheets, databases, powerpoint and outlook. Assist with the preparation of audio/visual presentations when required.
A minimum of 5 GCSE's (Grades A-C) to include English and Maths or equivalent
(Consideration may be given to those candidates who do not hold the above academic qualification but who can demonstrate a minimum of 3 year's relevant experience as below)
A minimum of 1 years' administrative / clerical experience to include dealing with the general public
