Our client, a leading Commercial Breakdown & Motor Servicing Company are currently seeking to recruit a Commerical Breakdown Fitter in Newtownabbey.
The role is permanent with a competitive salary based on experience.
Job Duties:
Tyre Fitting: The main responsibility of the Commercial Breakdown Fitter is to fit truck, van, implement, and earthmover tyres to a specified standard. This requires expertise in handling various types of tyres and ensuring they are fitted correctly.
Tyre Repairs: The fitter will also be responsible for repairing punctures in truck tyres, following the same specified standard. This involves identifying and fixing the punctures efficiently and effectively.
Training and Monitoring: The Commercial Breakdown Fitter may be required to assist in training and supervising other commercial breakdown fitters. This involves sharing knowledge and best practices to maintain a high standard of work within the team.
Breakdown Van Maintenance: The fitter will be responsible for the daily cleaning of the breakdown van. This includes ensuring the vehicle is tidy and removing scrap tyres from the van in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Store Duties: The role may involve additional responsibilities within the company's store, which could include managing tyre inventory, assisting customers, or other related tasks.
Other Duties: As needed, the fitter will be expected to take on any other duties related to the role or requested by the management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience as a commercial breakdown fitter or in a similar tyre fitting role is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of different types of tyres and their fitting requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills to handle tyre puncture repairs effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure work is carried out to a high standard.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with the team and assist in training.
- Full Drivers license
