Grafton Procurement and Supply, Belfast, are working in partnership with a leading NI manufacturer to appoint a Commodity Specialist. This is a new role, in a new strategic procurement department, that has been created to facilitate growth, drive customer satisfaction and increase company margins. The successful Commodity Specialist, you will be joining one of Northern Ireland's fastest-growing manufacturers at an exciting time in their development. You will be reporting to the Head of Procurement and will take full ownership of the Electrical and Hardware Category, which is my client's biggest area of spend. Working in the strategic procurement function it will be your job to consolidate the supply chain, capitalise on savings and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive performance metrics within your commodity.
As Commodity Specialist you will be totally responsible for creating and implementing strategies within your commodity in accordance with market activity and business objectives. You will manage a large portfolio of existing suppliers and be responsible for driving the performance of these suppliers, implementing performance metrics and continuous improvement. As Commodity Specialist it will be your job to create and implement new, high-quality supply chains to meet business objectives, presenting new supply solutions to the Senior Management Team. You will design and implement tender processes and strategic sourcing strategies and liaise with internal stakeholders to find innovative product solutions.
The successful Commodity Specialist will join an innovative and successful business at a key time in their development, as they seek to drive strategic objectives, create processes and transform their business culture. Remuneration of up to £42000 available for the successful Commodity Specialist and other benefits will include pension, free parking and more.
In order to be successful, you should have significant experience at working strategically within commodities, to include contract and commercial experience. You should have a solid track record of maintaining positive supply chain relationships and have experience of working outside of and implementing processes. Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to the above, hold a third level degree.
