Communications Coordinator - Public Sector

At Staffline Reruitment we currently have an opportunity available for a Communications Coordinator to take up a contract role with our client, a Public Sector body head quartered in Dublin City Centre. This contract will run until December 2021 with a view to extension upon completion.

The purpose of this role will be to ensure the effective delivery of communications to internal and external stakeholders.

The Communications Coordinator will play an integral role on the Corporate Communications Team, whilst providing valuable direct support to enhance and strengthen the organisation's role in delivering high quality services and supports on behalf of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To assist with the development and implementation of a communications plan for the organisation
  • To support the implementation of a communications protocol to ensure a streamlined and effective method for communications
  • Support public relations, digital communications and public affairs activity for the early learning and care and school aged care
  • Draft relevant content, prepare briefing materials / resources for company publications, the company's social media channels, website and training
  • Provide assistance and support to staff in regards to branding and messaging, ensuring consistency across all forms of communications. Act as a brand
  • Support internal communications campaigns and initiatives and assist with coordinating events
  • Work collaboratively and across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Represent the organisation at stakeholder meetings and events
  • Collaborate with early years representative organisations, external vendors and suppliers as appropriate and in line with the communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Keep up with topical issues and challenges impacting the Early Learning and Care and School Aged Care
  • Coordinate large scale events and meetings and circulate relevant communications and information
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are aligned with best practice, are well documented and communicated to

Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:

  • Relevant third level qualification (e.g. Degree or Masters), or equivalent gained in Public Relations, Communications or near related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years related experience (agency or in-house).
  • Experience in developing and implementing internal and / or external communications
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the Irish political
  • Knowledge of the workings of the community/voluntary/public sector

This position needs to be filled urgently by this organisation and immediate phone / SKYPE interviews will be held for suitable applicants. Remote working will be accommodated for the successful candidate in the short term.

This contract will be offered on a salary scale starting at €48,812- €61,693 depending on relevant experience.
