Job description
Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Coleraine require a Digital Communications Officer to join their team.
Casual Hours - 37hrs per week , Mon - Fri
Location - Coleraine
Main Duties:
- Working within the Tourism and Recreation Service of the Leisure and Development Directorate, this post will assist in the creation, delivery and implementation of a digital content marketing strategy in line with the Council's corporate objectives, the Tourism and Recreation Destination Strategy and the Destination Management action plans. This post will support the local economy through developing a strong working relationship with the tourism and recreation sector.
- The post holder will be responsible for developing the digital channels and ensuring the delivery of an integrated customer experience.
- The Digital Communications Officer will be responsible for planning, creating and distributing high-quality, well-designed digital marketing collateral to inspire, inform and convert visitors to the Causeway Coast and Glen's destination.
- Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
- Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The post-holder will be involved in the creative design and development of content materials and campaigns, using visitor insights to create inspirational and informative content through all channels including e-mail; social media; web, and Causeway Coast and Glens' Visitor Information Centre network.
- Generate and evaluate the effectiveness of digital communications channels in the context of departmental and corporate objectives and establish campaign baselines and set identifiable and measurable outcomes for each targeted campaign, ensuring the accurate and timely production of management information and performance data.
- Develop standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the realtime implementation of content strategies.
- Work closely with the Destination Marketing Officer on all digital creative and branding initiatives to ensure a consistent message across channels ensuring all content matches the tone and style of the Causeway Coast and Glens Destination.
- Ensure integration of content activities within traditional marketing campaigns.
- Develop and manage an online editorial calendar and ensure web content is all up to date and accurate.
- Create and circulate destination and event/campaign led e-zines and develop E-marketing databases.
- Work with external content producers to create engaging and relevant video content for clients and help to promote across social media.
- Keep up to date with trends in social media and e-marketing developments and incorporate evolving digital solutions into Causeway Coast and Glens Destination Marketing Action Plans where appropriate.
- To keep under review new developments and emerging technologies in all fields relevant to the postholder's responsibilities and to make recommendations to senior officers as appropriate.
- To monitor and benchmark competitor activity using appropriate tools and engage in social listening and sentiment analysis to support recommendations for action to tourism marketing campaigns.
- To liaise with external suppliers and manage the procurement and contractual processes required in the successful, value for money, delivery of all aspects of integrated marketing campaigns and events.
- To establish effective stakeholder networks and partnerships with Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI and other Council tourism teams to facilitate collaborative communications opportunities and the generation of efficiency savings.
- Assist the Destination Marketing Officer to create a social media policy and provide social media and content management training and co-ordinate activities for Visitor Information Centre personnel.
Criteria
Applicants must, at the closing date for receipt of application forms, have either:
- A third level qualification in marketing that includes an accredited diploma in digital marketing and be able to demonstrate, on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples at least one year's experience in assisting in bespoke innovative and creative digital campaigns undertaking each of the areas listed a - c below:
- a) Planning and Development
- b) Delivery
- c) Analysis and Evaluation
OR
- Consideration will be given to candidates who do not have a third level qualification that includes an accredited diploma in digital marketing but can demonstrate, on the application form by providing personal and specific examples at least two years' experience in assisting in bespoke innovative and creative digital campaigns undertaking each of the areas listed a - c above.
AND
All applicants must demonstrate one year's experience in the following areas:
- Working in collaboration with a range of stakeholders across services and sectors.
- The improvement of service delivery.
- Customer Relationship Management.
Using a number of digital/social media channels to include Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
