Job description

Our client requires an experienced Distribution Operator

Location - Craigavon

Shift Pattern - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Pay Rate - £9.37p/h

Key Responsibilities:

The post holder will be responsible for the effective picking and processing of Distribution Orders and picking, packing and distribution of biological samples. The role also extends to include receipt of material into Distribution and overall inventory management.

The post holder will:

  • Complete all Distribution activities in accordance with SOP's
  • Ensure Distribution facilities are clean and clear and assist in maintaining a high level of housekeeping within the laboratories.
  • Handle all material carefully and in the correct manner as outlined in Standard operating procedures and all applicable standards and regulations
  • Ensure the correct picking of material for all Distribution Orders and sample shipments
    1. Be proficient in picking across the full range of Distribution Protocols
    2. Demonstrate the ability to pick requiring minimum of supervision
    3. Produce consistent satisfactory output in line with department expectations
    4. Maintain quality standards in line with department expectations
  • Process Distribution Orders in accordance with Distribution Instructions
    1. Demonstrate competency and confidence in processing a wide range of orders
    2. Demonstrate the ability to process requiring the minimum of supervision
    3. Produce consistent satisfactory output in line with department expectations
    4. Maintain quality standards in line with department expectations
  • Process Sample shipments in accordance with the sample manifest, Distribution Instructions and Laboratory SOPs
    1. Demonstrate competency and confidence in processing a wide range of sample shipments
    2. Demonstrate the ability to process requiring the minimum of supervision
    3. Produce consistent satisfactory output in line with department expectations
    4. Maintain quality standards in line with department expectations
    5. Use the LIMS system to located samples in storage. Down grade samples in LIMS to returned upon dispatch of a shipment
  • Retrieve material from outside Storage facilities in an efficient manner
  • Perform the receipt of material into Distribution update inventory and store accordingly
  • Maintain various stock control matrices and inventories for the laboratory ensuring ordering is performed in a timely manner to sustain sufficient stock levels.
  • Organise all Distribution activities to ensure efficient and secure completion
  • Perform and maintain accurate computer transactions in line with Distribution and Inventory Management systems
  • Undertake additional duties or specific tasks as designated by superiors
  • Complete all documentation in compliance with the principles of cGDP, GCP, SOP's and the Distribution Instructions

Essential Criteria:

  • MUST HAVE previous Distribution/Warehouse previous
  • GCSE Mathematics and English Language at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of hygiene standards and Good Distribution Practice

Key Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Basic IT skills
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to manage timescales
