Location

Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) is currently located in Phoenix Park, Dublin 8, but will be moving to a new state-of-the-art facility being constructed in Backweston, Co. Kildare due for completion by Q3, 2022.

The Role
As a Forensic Scientist Grade III, you will report to an experienced forensic practitioner and develop the critical skills to produce casework. You will be involved in delivering on a range of analytical techniques to produce case work with high credibility and rigour. You will also help develop new techniques and processes to ensure that FSI is at the forefront of forensic technology and practice.

Essential Criteria

Candidates must:

  1. On or before 30th September 2022, hold a qualification of at least Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Forensics or Genetics
  2. A minimum of 6 months post qualification Laboratory experience;
  3. Have a knowledge and understanding of the principles underlying the most common analytical techniques used in a forensic laboratory;
  4. Have a good level of IT literacy and be capable of using FSI's Information Management System (LIMS) effectively;

Desirable Criteria

  • A relevant post graduate qualification;
