Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Head of HR and Compliance to join an established local employer based in their Derry offices. In this stand alone position you will report to the Managing Director and have full responsibility and autonomy for the HR and Health and Safety function within this growing business.

Main duties will include;

  • Maintaining and implementing management systems in 9001, 14001 and 18001
  • Lead the talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • The development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Undertake tasks around performance management
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations
  • Support the development of OHS policies and programs
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity
  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn't meet requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a similar HR and Compliance position
  • A strong understanding of HR and employment law
  • A strong understanding of H&S legislation
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001
  • An understanding of quality control standards
