Higher Environmental Planning Officer
Higher Environmental Planning Officer required up to June 2021 approx.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Contribute to the day to day delivery of Shared Environmental Service (SES) services ensuring that commitments to clients and standards are met & outputs quality assured.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES;
Deliver SES services including carrying out casework relating to Habitats Regulations Assessment, Environmental Impack Assessment & other environmental assessments.
Adhere to and comply with all company policies and procedures relevant to this role, including arrangements for health and safety and risk management.
Ensure the company performance management framework is consistently implemented & provide advice, support and guidance to staff on personal developmentrequirements, initiating further training where appropriate as well as setting annual performance improvement objectives at departmental & individual level.
Ensure efficient & effective financial management by contributing to the development of and working within agreed budgets & finances to deliver service priorities and by ensuring that these budgets are effectively managed, implemented & adhered to across the department.
CRITERION 1; A recognised third level qualification in an environmental discipline. This may include biology, zoology, botany, ecology, marine science, environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering or environmental law. Other planning or environmental related qualifications will be assessed in conjunction with evidence of experience relevant to the knowledge required for this post.
CRITERION 2; Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal & specific examples that they have a minimum of two years (four years if you do not hold the qualification in Criterion 1) working experience of;
Habitats Regulations Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment, ecological survey and monitoring, conservation management or implementing environmental management solutions.
CRITERION 3; Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal & specific examples that they have a minimum of two years (four year's if you do not hold the qualification in criterion 1) working experience to include;
Evidence of report writing skills from reports where the applicant was the lead author.
CRITERION 4; All candidates must hold or be working towards the equivalent of Associate or Higher membership of a relevant professional body. Alternatively, if successful applicants do not currently hold professional membership, they must apply for membership within six months and achieve membership within one year of appointment.
CRITERION 5; A sound working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
CRITERION 6; A full current driving licence valid in the UK & access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport.
