Higher Executive Officer: ICT Business Solutions
Salary: €50,848 - €64,038
Location: Dublin or regional office
The Health and Safety Authority has a wide and varied mandate which includes acting as the national body with responsibility for protecting all workers nationwide from work-related incidents, injuries and ill health. The Authority acts as the national accreditation body for Ireland through INAB.
The Authority is currently undergoing significant growth as it takes on new and expanding functions. We currently have a number of exciting opportunities to join us as we grow and transform our organisation
The following non-exhaustive list of accountabilities are those typically assigned to a Higher Executive Officer:
- Manages a team of direct reports, creating a positive working environment and supporting their professional and personal development
- Manages vendor partnerships appropriately and ensures that services are maintained and improved
- Leads on customer and stakeholder engagements and maintains appropriate correspondence and databases as appropriate
- Ensures that the Authority meets government regulations and standards
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Leads cross organisational projects, working with colleagues from across the organisation to analyse processes and ways of working, bringing solutions and ideas to gain efficiencies
- Researches and drafts proposals relating to policy issues, operations, and legislation
- Monitors and reports on delivery of programme of work and projects.
A Higher Executive Officer assigned to ICT Business Solutions is responsible for the management, support, maintenance and ongoing development of key business applications. In addition to the general accountabilities expected of a Higher Executive Officer, specific accountabilities relating to the role of Higher Executive Officer: ICT Business Solutions will include:
- Acts as a key ICT Subject Matter Expert (SME) during the development phase of a new business solution or improvement project, transitioning to key support SME
- Leads project team for infrastructure and data workstream of significant application programmes of work.
- Manages UAT phase of development
- Attends workshops and provides any follow up information to Vendor BA's
- Manages admin and support team for business application, including the monitoring and active management of any SLA with business units.
- Manages training roll-out and ongoing training and documentation for key business applications
- Documents and evaluates all change requests and makes recommendations in conjunction with BS Lead
- Evaluates any new functionality as it becomes available with the support vendor
- Provides protected support to collaborate with the Data Management & Analytics team and supports the implementation of any ICT solution/fix/infrastructure changes needed to support effective data management across the Authority
- Manages vendor partnerships appropriately and ensures that services are maintained and improved
- Any other duties as may be assigned in accordance with the operational needs of the Authority.
