Home Economics Technician
Catering Manager required for a large public sector organisation based through the Northern Ireland Belfast Civil Service
Salary: £19,650 - £20,043 p/a
Location: Our lady and St. Patricks college
Hours: 36 hours per week - 8.30am to 3.45pm
Duration: ongoing
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- To assist teachers in the classroom with practical's and ICT.
- To deputise for teacher when absent in practical lessons with substitute teacher.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of all equipment associated with the Home Economics department.
- To keep classrooms, surfaces and equipment clean.
- Undertake ordering, including obtaining quotations and stock taking duties.
- Collecting and preparing materials and equipment for use in class.
- To carry out word processing as and when required.
- To assist with Cookery Club and cookery demonstrations.
- To produce and update HE displays.
- To assist in the production and sourcing of class and resource materials.
- Maintain a safe/hygienic working environment and alerting the appropriate authorities of any Health and Safety issue when required.
- To carry out shopping duties for department supplies.
- To cover Medical Room as required.
- Exam invigilation duties as and when required.
- Attending relevant in-house training.
- To carry out deep clean of department as required.
- To carry out, as required by the Head of Home Economics/College Business Manager, any other relevant duties.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Applicants must possess 5 GCSEs, including English Language and Mathematics.
AND
- Competence, knowledge and understanding of working with practical ingredients.
- Interest and commitment to working alongside and supporting pupils.
SKILLS
- Committed to effective teamwork.
- ICT skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
