Human Resources Assistant

The Client: Local Public body based in Armagh, serving local residents.
The Role:
- To co-ordinate and process a range of correspondence in accordance with agreed procedures within area of responsibility.
- To be responsible for inputting and updating electronic recording systems associated with area of work, and to provide monthly and ad hoc reports as requested.
- To undertake a range of admin support duties including word processing, organising meetings/panels, maintaining diaries and dealing with incoming/outgoing mail.
- To ensure that work for which responsible is processed in a timely manner in accordance with agreed performance standards and that any issues are brought to the attention of their Line Manager.
- To prioritise workload in accordance with expected outcomes.
- Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from managers, staff and the public regarding general employee relations issues in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Escalate more complex / specialist enquiries to the appropriate HR contact.
- Continually strive to improve quality, standards and procedures within area of responsibility contributing to the ongoing desire to improve delivery of services.
- Arranging and attending meetings, taking minutes, typing and distribution of same.
- Assist with maintaining, updating and filing departmental records as required.
- Continually strive to improve quality, standards and procedures within the Department, contributing to any associated developmental work as appropriate.
- Provide informal guidance and support to HR Assistants Band 2 if applicable.
Hours of work: Monday-Friday: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Requirements:
- 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language or equivalent / higher qualification AND 1 years' experience in a clerical / administrative role OR 2 years' experience in a clerical / administrative role.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft office products including Word and Excel or equivalent.
- Previous Human Resources experience preferable (but not essential).
