ICT Business Analyst - Public Sector

At Staffline Reruitment we are currently seeking to recruit an ICT Business Analyst to take up a contract role with our client, a prominent Public Sector body with Dublin City Centre offices. This contract will run up until December 2021, with a view to extension upon completion.

Reporting to the Business Systems Development Manager, the role will support and facilitate the effective implementation of ICT Business Systems programmes. The role will focus on supporting the ICT Project Manager and Business Analysts in delivering both enhancements to existing line of business systems and the development of new systems. There will be a focus on business process definition and process improvement while collaborating with the existing Teams, ICT Senior Team members and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with senior ICT Team members to analyse and document existing business processes with a view of streamlining and introducing efficiencies via structured change management and software
  • Assist the Business Analysts in the information and requirements gathering process, reconciling conflicts, de-composing high-level information into detail, abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding. Distinguishing user requests from
  • underlying true business needs;
  • Draft, finalise and support the sign off of functional
  • Collaborate with the development team to support the implementation of new software
  • Support the transition and handover from "Project" to software support
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality services from Business Systems Development
  • Work with the ICT Project Lead to produce system test plans, test scenarios (where required) and test scripts from functional requirements
  • Document test conditions and expected results for all stated / planned functional requirements and user stories
  • Develop and write functional and test documentation, including procedures and training materials to support the roll out of new systems and enhancements to existing systems
  • Execute and support the testing phase of projects / system development
  • Track, log and resolve test bugs, issues and refinements
  • Support business users through User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to execute and finalise projects according to strict deadlines and within
  • Work with the Business Systems Development Manager and the Project Manager regarding the implementation, execution, control and completion of specific project tasks, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals
  • Work closely with Project Manager and BA to establish their requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis

Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:

  • Relevant third level qualification (e.g. Certificate, Diploma etc), or equivalent is essential
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification is
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Products (SharePoint / Dynamics CRM a distinct advantage)
  • Awareness of ICT industry trends and new approaches to ICT implementation (i.e Cloud)
  • Knowledge of Information security systems and Data Protection
  • Ability to gain experience and knowledge of project management and core business consulting skills, including the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Ability to work within a Project Management Office
  • Ability to gain experience delivering business systems analyst services
  • Effective problem solver with the ability to pre-empt potential issues and to learn quickly and find solutions
  • Defined influencing skills with the confidence to deal with staff effectively at all levels throughout the organisation
  • Ability to develop IT solutions based on Business need and requirements

This position needs to be filled urgently by this organisation and immediate phone / SKYPE interviews will be held for suitable applicants. Remote working will be accommodated for the successful candidate in the short term.

This contract will be offered on a salary scale starting at €37,436 up to €51,851 depending on relevant experience.
