Import and Export Officer, Ireland

Background

Job Purpose

Part of the supply chain team, enabling the Import and Export of products from Ireland through the required logistics and customs processes. These steps and management of the steps need to be followed accurately and delivered to tight time scales to ensure compliance and the uninterrupted movement of goods across borders.

This will include co-ordinating logistics and factory certification for import and export for products of animal origin activities and providing the required department of Agriculture Food and Marine documentation, certification inputs into TRACES NT/CLASSIC and the Border Control portal documentation for exiting and entering Ireland/Non Eu Countries. Working closely with factory materials departments, external suppliers, import and export officers/coordinator and veterinary inspectors.

There will be numerous software applications that support the overall process.

Accurate and efficient record keeping, time management and efficiency will be key to this role to allow the expected service of our customers and smooth movement of goods.

Responsibilities

Planning loads for Export /Import from Ireland/Non EU.

· Excellent knowledge of working with different interfaces essential.

· Input into traceability process to enable import and export certification.

· Co-ordinating the TRACES NT/CLASSIC and other systems as required.

· Ensuring SAP /documentation/import/export IT systems have the correct information to allow successful import and export of goods.

· Escalate potential issues in a timely manner so it doesn't impact on production or the supply chain.

· Have a clear understanding of all the import and export flows of our business.

· Ensuring all submissions are correct for each consignment before contacting the veterinary inspectors.

· Be the main point of contact for the materials department and the veterinary inspectors.

· Ensure vendor import certifications are correct upon arrival into Ireland so it doesn't impact the plant.

· Coordinating returns from Non EU countries where required.

· Generate all documentation required to ensure certification approval by the veterinary inspector/importing country

· Liaising with Production planners/Logistics/MM/ Quality Departments.

Keeping records in accordance with internal audit /legislative requirements

· Cross functional working will be required to ensure smooth delivery of documentation across the certification team

Accountabilities

The individual will be accountable for their delivery of the above processes and escalation of anomalies/ issues where required.
