Job description

Internal Sales Representative - Plumbing and Heating

Fulltime

Newry

The role:

Reporting to the Plumbing and Heating manager you will provide quotations and promote the sales of products to customers to achieve sales targets.

  • Price customer enquiries and return same within required time.
  • Follow up quotations to a conclusion and properly record outcome
  • Achieve the specified order quotation to completion rate at the best possible margin
  • Accurately process successful quotations into orders
  • Actively promote under floor heating and renewables to customers
  • Pro-actively promote enquiries and orders by telesales
  • Attend Training Seminars as required to become expert in products and sales techniques
  • Provide advice and assistance to customers to the best of ability
  • Gather information as necessary, to produce accurate sales statistics
  • Achieve monthly sales targets as set by the Department Manager
  • Work to develop a positive relationship between the Sales Representative(s), other Departments and customers to achieve best result for the Company
  • Gather and distribute market information to buying Departments
  • Co-operate in regular Company stock-takes
  • Co-operate and assist with other Departments to achieve sales
  • Act at all times with courtesy and goodwill towards customers to promote the best image of the Company
  • Work overtime and carry out other duties from time to time at the request of the Department Manager (including a flexible approach to start and finish times)
  • Carry out any other duties within the Department as requested from time to time by the Manager in relation to cover for holidays/absenteeism

Essential Requirements

  • Have an aptitude for selling and be highly motivated
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have good IT skills
  • Experience from within a plumbing and heating merchant environment
  • Some experience in estimating
  • Be able to work well within a busy team to develop and achieve results

Hours of work:

37.5 hrs per week (Mon to Thurs 8am - 5pm, Fri 8am - 4pm). Sat 8-12.30pm on a rota basis
