IT Operations Manager - Public Sector
At Staffline Recruitment we are partnering with our client, a public sector body who have experienced significant growth and change in recent years. As part of their growth and expansion they have a permanent opportunity available for an ICT Applications and Systems Operations Manager to join their organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, oversight, management and execution of the organisation's Applications and Systems operations. The ICT Application and Systems Operations Manager is ultimately responsible for identifying, evaluating and executing operational and future strategies which drive continuous technology improvement to help meet current demands and future growth.
Key responsibilities will include the following:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring, maintenance and supporting the technical administration of all internal systems
- Management of Licencing of software, applications and warranty renewals to ensure compliance with regulations
- Responsible for managing related ICT projects from start to finish, including defining project scope, identifying resources, developing project plans, and managing project execution. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
- Ensure Level 2 and 3 technical and functional support
- Develop a team of system engineers, contractors and vendors providing both technical expertise and strong leadership while ensuring the highest levels of performance and quality
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, act as key SLA contact with external vendors, suppliers and contractors, monitoring performance and escalating as necessary
- Coordinate procurement and budget aspects of Applications and Systems Operations related Infrastructure including hardware (if any), software, applications, and associated services
- Liaise closely with other ICT unit leads to ensure the ICT directorate collaborates and works effectively together with wider internal and management teams
- Oversee communication process with internal and external customers and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation when required
- Maintain related ICT policies and procedures and ensure continuous improvement in accordance with alignment programme to ISO industry standards like 27001, 20000
- Implementation of best practice service methodologies related to applications and systems operations including Disaster Recovery, Capacity Planning, Incident Management, Change Management and Infrastructure Monitoring
- Drive strategic leadership by bringing thought provoking innovative ideas, solutions and methods to the table, keeping a step ahead of the ever-evolving threat environment and landscape
- Operate a continuous improvement programme and keep a foot of latest security initiatives and innovations
Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:
- Relevant Third Level ICT qualification (e.g., Degree) or equivalent technical certification
- 5+ years in a similar ICT role and a proven record of 3+ years in a similar managerial / technical role with focus specifically leading ICT operations
- Ability to explain complex topics to those without a technical background
- Best practices, design and knowledge on ICT infrastructure and applications
- Experience of working with and securing cloud or IT shadow applications
- Experience with managing, leading and coaching staff
- Knowledge of the workings of the community /voluntary /public sector
This is a permanent position with a salary scale in the region of €60,000 - €90,000 plus benefits depending on experience.
This position will be based in Dublin City Centre with a hybrid working model with a very flexible blend of office based and remote working. The successful candidate can be located anywhere in the Republic of Ireland but will be required to attend the office in Dublin as and when required.
