The Client: Local government body based in Lisburn, serving local residents.
The Role: This post holder will report to the IT Manager and will be accountable to the IT Project Board in relation to the ongoing day to day management of the projects. The post holder will manage the implementation of the projects on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Project Board within the constraints of time and cost and is responsible for the project producing a result that achieves the deliverables agreed with the Project Board.
The post holder will be supported by the IT Services Team and the wider Portfolio Office. The 2 immediate projects are detailed below:
- IT Transformation Project
In collaboration with the 3rd party supplier, the project officer will be responsible for the successful implementation of phase one of the Client's IT Strategy. This includes a migration to M365, Azure Cloud hosting, coordinating staff training and development of annual IT equipment replacement program.
- Telephony Replacement/Upgrade
The project officer will be responsible for preparing a specification, taking it through the procurement process and undertaking a robust tender assessment. They will create and implement an efficient and organised project plan, ensuring that a new telephony system is implemented and delivered to deadline and within budget in collaboration with the system provider.
The Project Officer will work closely with the supplier project manager and delivery team representing the needs of the client. They are responsible for making sure that the project is delivered on schedule and within budget, making sure that the supplier meets their contract obligations and achieving the key projects deliverables.
Hours of work: 37 hrs per week
Requirements:
- A third level qualification (for example, an HNC, HND, NVQ Level 4, Degree) or equivalent
- A minimum of three years' employment experience in the following areas:
- Effective IT project management including managing and monitoring project budgets.
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including employees & external suppliers
- Experience of managing risks, actions, issues & dependencies,
- Ability to write reports and effective documents for internal and external recipients.
Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1.1, they must demonstrate a minimum of five years' experience as outlined in 1.2 above.
- It is essential that applicants hold a full (i.e. not provisional) and current UK driving licence and access to a car or * have access to a means of transport which would enable the applicant to carry out the duties of the post.
- A working knowledge of procurement processes
- PRINCE2/PMP certification (or equivalent) desirable
