Location of post: Magheralin base with travel to other sites
Accountable to: Director of HR
Key Relationships: Operational Management, HR Managers, Department Managers, Team Leaders and all Employees, external Training agencies
Role Purpose:
To lead, co-ordinate and develop the training processes and plans for the business. Offering guidance and support to the departmental management teams to ensure our employees are competent to undertake their day-to-day activities and are developed to reach their full potential.
This will include the development of training plans and competency assessment to support the operational requirements of the business. The implementation of these processes must be conducted in line with the Company's Vision and Values.
Relationship Development
Develop strong and collaborative working relationships within the HR team, offering support while also drawing on their knowledge and experience
Build positive relationships with other departments, utilising these positive relationships to assist with delivery of effective training programmes and the success of team development.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Site Management, establishing strong communication links and accurate provision of information to support the continuous improvement of the site.
Work closely with the Food safety & Health & safety teams to ensure that regulatory and statutory training requirements are understood and implemented effectively
Maintain strong lines of communication and develop links with external agencies and third party training providers to ensure that Glanbia Cheese is represented effectively through networks and that training and funding is utilised effectively to meet the needs of the business.
Through effective leadership, promote a harmonious working environment based upon the building blocks of the company's Vision and Values and take action to address individual or group behaviour that may be detrimental to positive working relationships in accordance with company procedures.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all functions including Health and Safety, Production, Food Safety & Quality, Planning, Finance, Commercial and HR.
Develop relationship with Glanbia, Leprino and customers to ensure we keep abreast of best practice
Learning & Development Effectiveness
Working as part of the HR team, coordinate all L&D activities - Develop site / department L&D plan, organise L&D activities and measure / evaluate effectiveness of training interventions to demonstrate return on investment.
Develop the training strategy/plan and budget in conjunction with site operational teams to meet the needs of the business ensuring at all times the training requirements are aligned with all legal and customer requirements
Working with HR, develop a robust process for identifying training needs in each area of the business and map training requirements by job role into an overarching L&D strategy
Review and evaluate the e-learning system, bringing forward informed proposals for development of this system
Work with the HR team and the subject matter experts in each area to redesign the company induction programme to ensure effective onboarding of all new entrants to the business
Review, develop and deliver in-house training programmes particularly in relation to HR, H&S and Food Safety procedures and processes
Develop and evaluate the best use of on line training modules and job training videos to support in house training systems
Contribute to companywide talent / succession planning processes.
Where appropriate coach and mentor leaders and managers within the organisation on best practice leadership and management interaction with employees
Evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of training making use of surveys, questionnaires, interviews and by observation/audits and make recommendations for future learning opportunities
Train the Team Leaders and key operators in effective training techniques to ensure they are competent to complete training and are consistent
Implement and monitor the training process and competency assessments of PSOP training, providing structure, guidance and support to team leaders and managers responsible for managing this training.
Work proactively with managers to ensure training is recorded appropriately and that the training matrix is up-to-date.
Evaluate external training providers to ensure best content to meet our needs, delivery methodology depending on the group being trained, cost and effectiveness.
Support the delivery of team briefings to ensure consistency of message is delivered
Maintain training registers and present these during audits of the site by customers, governing bodies, etc.
Responsible Care
Drive and support a positive Health and Safety culture within the business where H&S is given equal priority with all other activities
Maintain focus on workplace safety, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (PSOP's)
Ensure that the circumstances of any accidents or incidents or near misses are recorded in detail, reported via specified methods and that any supporting documentation is completed promptly and passed to the department manager. Immediately escalate any accidents to the site manager and the EHS manager.
Promote the culture of "Stop, Think, Act" . Observe, act on and immediately report any issues that may pose a threat to a safe working environment
Promote the submission of Safety Improvement recommendation (SIR)'s
Ensure all Personal Protective clothing and equipment is worn in accordance with company policy.
Ensure all team members are fully aware of site H&S standards, and ensure production processes & maintenance activities operate in accordance with the requirements of ISO45001
Ensure all team members understand the site Environmental Targets and objectives and how their department can influence these in a positive manner.
Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role.

Experience
| A minimum of 2 Years post qualification L&D experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment Diverse communication and interpersonal experience; with the ability to adapt your communication style/method to effectively reach the audience Experience designing training programmes, lead a training agenda and delivery of training to a variety of job levels
Ability to compile reports for regulatory and customer review
