Legal Advisor - Public Sector

At Staffline Recruitment we have a fantastic opportunity available for a qualified Solicitor to take up the role of Legal Advisor with a Public Sector body headquartered in Dublin City Centre.

The successful candidate will become a pivotal part of the organisation's legal team by providing legal advice and assistance to the Board, Executives and team members. The Legal Advisor will report to the Lead Solicitor work as part of the Corporate Governance, Legal Services and Secretariat division.

The purpose of this role will be to assist in providing all aspects of corporate legal support with responsibilities that will include the following:

  • Conducting legal research
  • Drafting legal correspondence
  • Advising on and drafting a range of commercial contracts and agreements
  • Engaging with the external legal panel for the provision of external legal advice, where necessary
  • Managing records etc. for the Lead Solicitor and the legal function
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the law that will be impact on the organisation
  • Involvement in litigation matters, where necessary
  • Providing training and support to the wider team
  • Working with the Lead Solicitor to provide legal advice to the Board and the Executive, including putting procedures in place to mitigate any legal risks
  • Ensuring that continuous learning and development is undertaken through informal and formal learning and constructive participation in the Performance Management and Development Review Process
  • Ensuring dignity, respect and equality are applied throughout the organisation and that a work life balance in the workplace is supported as much as possible
  • Demonstrating flexibility in undertaking such additional tasks as may be assigned

This position will be initially offered as a 2 year contract with the expectation to extend upon completion. A hybrid working model will be available.

Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:

  • Candidates must be enrolled as a solicitor in the Irish State and have 2-5 years PQE
  • Inhouse / public sector legal experience will be highly desirable
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Highly organised, detail and results oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and both written and verbal communications skills
  • Team leadership and an ability to work on own initiative
  • Critical judgment, analytical acumen and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders
