Job description

Maintenance Mechanical Engineer

Location: County Tyrone

Salary: negotiable plus benefits and overtime.

Shift Pattern (12 Hour Shift; 7am & 7pm)

Week 1 - Day Shift: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun

Week 2 - Day Shift: Wed, Thurs

Week 3 - Night Shift: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun

Week 4 - Night Shift: Wed, Thurs

Grafton Specialist Recruitment are recruiting for a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer on of a leading, global brand in the FMCG/food sector. The Maintenance Mechanical Engineer will be required to work independently as required and have a good working relationship with production management and operators and be willing to give technical advice to production when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Welding (Various Types).
  • Fabrication.
  • Working with Mechanical Drive Systems.
  • Working with Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • Implementation of Preventative Maintenance schedules and completing associated Work Management documentation.
  • Actively participate in fault finding / re-engineering of plant and equipment to ensure continuous improvement of all operations.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Must be a Time/Skill-Served Fitter with Industrial Experience.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to diagnose and solve problems.
  • Must have experience of Welding (gas and electric).
  • Must have experience of Fabrication.
  • Must have experience of Mechanical Drive Systems.
  • Industrial Experience is essential.
  • Good reasoning ability essential.
  • The ability to make decisions.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of poultry processing machinery.
  • Experience within a Food Processing Industry.
  • Experience in the use of Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • The ability to organise time.
  • Showing initiative.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
