Job description

• Purchase goods/materials in accordance with the commercial agreements
• Ensure continuous supply of goods/materials & escalate problems which may impact on production requirement
• Research and evaluate the opportunities to reduce cost where possible, in conjunction with the business purchasing strategy
• Stock management and target a reduction in inventory levels by monitoring usage/ promotional activity on a weekly basis in collaboration with the Group Stores & Stock Controller
• Control stock levels with key suppliers using stock & forecast methods
• Ensure stock management review - highlighting slow moving and obsolete stock
• In conjunction with the Stores & Stock Controller, review and oversee onsite and off-site stock takes - stock level / stock takes / stock valuations/ reconciliations
• Co-ordinate with offsite storage including frozen stock
• Identify opportunities to sell redundant/obsolete stocks
• Liaise with Sales/Planning/Technical/NPD & Production on existing/new production launches
• Plan scheduled delivery call offs in conjunction with production needs
• Assist with invoice queries
• Assist with supplier approval
• Support continuous improvements
• Meet KPIs as agreed as set by your line manager

Requirements

• Qualified by experience essential
• Ideally a work knowledge of an FMCG specially food manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong IT skill particularly Microsoft Excel & ERP knowledge
• Strong ability to prioritise tasks and to work under pressure
• Ability to use one's own initiative
• Ability to work as part of a team and individual
• Possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving and organisational skills
