Job description

Temporary MI Data Business Analyst required for a large public sector client based in Belfast.

Rate of Pay: £15.42 per hour

Location: Westland House, Belfast

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Duration: 6 months pending review

Main duties/Responsibilities:

Reporting, Data Analysis and Systems

  • Undertake analysis and challenge the accuracy of the findings
  • Challenge business areas/functions where required, on a range of key business performance and regulatory information for Board
  • Ensuring accuracy in a continuously evolving business environment
  • Review fit for purpose reports and revolutionise reporting by moving to a Power BI platform
  • Strategically plan the monitoring and compliance review of processes and procedures underpinning the data, to ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Measure and monitor compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements (DG3, DG6, DG7, DG8 & DG9) - including extraction and analysis of data to validate the CBC Contractor's monthly performance
  • Co-ordinate the weekly Performance Hub slide
  • Review historic information and lead on development of reports that provide historic trends and allow for future forecasting i.e. PC21 fleet utilization
  • Ensure data compliance and provide assurance on our adherence to IMU policies
  • Lead on production of Levels of Service Methodology documents that detail the process, systems and controls used to collect record and validate performance information
  • Cross skilling within the team, knowledge transfer and assisting in the development of improved ways to display and visualise data
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure, anticipate potential issues or problems and provide robust and objective solutions
  • Support L3 in customer research and reporting with external partners (i.e. IPSOS MORI)

Quality Management

  • Lead on ensuring ongoing completeness, quality and accuracy of data and reports
  • Discuss, challenge and inform on strategy development relating to data and quality standards
  • Provide analysis and assurance to external contractors as a result of measuring and monitoring quality and performance of service delivery
  • Lead on development of processes to ensure compliance for the role's business areas

Communications

  • Ability to communicate on complex technical issues and to report on the development of reporting solutions to L3s/Senior Management
  • Develop, manage and maintain relationships with the business in accordance with best principles and behaviours
  • Analyse information, to inform key critical business and operational decisions

Planning and Organising

  • Prioritise competing demands and managing multiple CSD Business Services tasks
  • Prioritise planning and managing resource to ensure time targets are achieved, ensuring the timely provision of reports
  • Prioritise forecasting and the timely production of analysis to inform L3s/Senior Management to aid strategic decision making

Team & People Management

  • Ensuring commitment through engagement with internal and external stakeholders to meet business activity requirements
  • Lead and/or contribute to project teams, working on specific CSD Services solutions
  • Provide assurance that all audit, risk and governance requirements are met

Essential criteria:

  • A minimum of 1 years' experience in SQL query development and reporting systems
  • A minimum of 1 years' experience in either Microsoft Power View or Power BI
  • A minimum of 1years' experience in:
    • CorVu reporting system (or equivalent)
    • Rapid billing system
    • the design, development, testing and roll-out of required regulatory and business reports
    • creating and maintaining reporting databases using certified software tools
    • interpreting business requirements in relation to MI
  • Experience in planning and developing of reports, carry out fault analysis and implement new processes and procedures to deliver improved business performance, MI reporting and data quality
  • Evidence in the maintenance of data standards, including adherence to Data Protection legislation and management of Business Sensitive Data
  • Strong IT skills in relation to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with strong numeric and proven analytical skills
