Motor Claims Handler x2

My Client based in Belfast urgently requires Motor Claims Handlers for their growing business. The successful candidate will have at least 12 months experience in Claims Handling within an established insurance environment.

The role:

  • To investigate, negotiate and settle designated motor damage claims up to stipulated authority levels
  • Liaise with garages, engineers, hire company and solicitor on client's behalf
  • Investigating, negotiating and settling of designated claims, ensuring that Company resources are utilised in a cost effective manner
  • Ensuring efficient progress and update of claims through the system
  • Dealing with enquiries from insurance brokers, policyholders and other clients
  • Liaising with other internal departments and external service providers
  • Liaising with senior handler and team leader as and when necessary
  • Preparation of documentation for cheque approval
  • Reporting to insurers
  • Maintaining FCA compliance at all times

Key skills:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a claims environment within the insurance industry
  • Experience of Motor Damage, or Property Claims
  • Computer literate, with good working knowledge of computerised claims systems
  • Knowledge of GB/NI/ROI territories
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to investigate and make prompt decisions
  • Possesses the energy, enthusiasm and ability to work within a demanding environment that requires a hands-on approach
