Occupational Health Advisor
Peripatetic across Northern Ireland
Competitive Salary (dependent on experience)

The Job
You will be part of an Occupational Health team providing a service of excellence you'll be responsible for:
- Provision of specialist nursing skills helping maintain the high standard of service
- Provision of management skills contributing to efficiency and effectiveness of the service
- Promoting good liaison at all times, with both management and employees
- Keeping abreast of changing legislation, clinical practice, and managerial styles
- Ensuring that clinical equipment is maintained and calibrated on a planned basis
- Participating in clinical audits and / or research projects as appropriate
- Maintaining confidentiality, courtesy, professionalism, and high standards of presentation in all communications with customers and potential customers
- Complying with data protection, information security and other relevant policies, when handling personal data or special categories of sensitive data
- Performing all tasks and duties when required, providing flexibility and cover in a team working environment
Key clinical tasks:
- Occupational Health ill health/ management referrals
- Immunisation Programmes
- Health Screening and Surveillance
- Workplace Assessments including Display Screen Equipment
- Health Promotion Programmes
- Management of ad-hoc Occupational Health issues e.g. percutaneous and mucocutaneous injuries
- Conducting face-to-face and/or telephone consultations to adhere to company, their client and NMC guidelines and codes of conduct
- Good and accurate record keeping and adhering to confidentiality policy and procedure
The Person
- RN qualification in Adult Nursing
- Two years minimum experience working in Occupational Health
- Clinical Skills to include : spirometry, audiometry, immunisations, phlebotomy, mantoux, BCG, ECGs, vision screening
- Full driving licence and access to a car to meet the needs of the peripatetic requirements
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Customer focused and flexible
- Able to work independently and part of a team
- A good decision maker
