Part Qual Accountant - Charity - Remote Working
At Staffline Recruitment we have fantastic opportunity available for a part qualified or qualified accountant to take up a role with a charitable organisation. This is a permanent position that will be based in Longford but the successful candidate will be accommodated to work remotely with an occasional attendance at the office.
The purpose of this role will be to provide accounting support to the Head of Finance using strong organisational skills and a can do attitude.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Liaise with the Head of Finance and under the general direction of the CEO to ensure that adequate records with regards to the Income and Expenditure of the charity are maintained.
- Maintain the Sage accounting system and prepare monthly management accounts (e.g. process all supplier invoices on sage, process payments in a timely manner as authorised by management in respect of the society, posting income journals, payroll, bank reconciliations, monitoring cash flow and bank balances).
- Liaise with and ensure all supplier queries regarding payments are dealt with in an efficient manner.
- Keep debtors records up-to date on the sage system and issue monthly statements.
- Ensure that the fundraising CRM system is updated, donor records are complete as regards donations, organise donor completion of chy forms and submission of chy files to Revenue, maintenance of direct debit system and weekly transfer of direct debit files.
- Fundraising/Financial reconciliations as required by the Fundraising Manager.
- Training and supervision of office staff/volunteers where appropriate.
- Work in conjunction with the Head of Finance to deal with and supply the necessary information to the charity's Insurance Broker in order that adequate insurance is in place on an annual basis.
- To assist in the preparation of accounts for audit and assist the auditors.
- Budget preparation and reporting and integrating this work into the monthly management accounting process.
- To perform any other duties which may be requested by Head of Finance as deemed appropriate e.g. grant applications, website improvements, telesales etc.
Interested candidates will meet the following requirements:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant with at least 2 years' experience in an accounts function.
- Excellent telephone manner and customer relation skills.
- Excellent communication, administrative and organisational
- Accounting package (preferably SAGE) and Microsoft Office skills required.
- Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and to multitask required.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Knowledge of Databases and CRM systems is an advantage.
- Must be enthusiastic, warm and friendly and a good team player.
- Ability to learn on the job and attend relevant training required.
- Interest in and/or knowledge of the charity sector is desirable.
