Responsibility for the creation and communication of factory production plans, with the goal of achieving 100% service level at least cost. The Planner will have responsibility for weekly capacity planning and for ensuring service levels are protected while ensuring stock levels are kept to a minimum.
Responsibilities:
1.Daily responsibilities
To effectively plan the factory by producing accurate schedules for production, ensuring minimal waste, through daily manipulation of the planning tools, order management and inventory control.
Work with the purchasing department to ensure all material will be here on time and in full
As a multi-skilled team share and cover duties linked to all core areas of the function, these include but are not limited to:
Meat Supply - ensure orders/amendments are communicated to the Meat supply team, to ensure delivery on time in full
Frozen Stock - Ensure appropriate tool is in place to review all frozen stock holdings to minimise waste and maximise CSL
Meat substitutions - be commercially aware and react accordingly
Contribute to reviews of proposed new products and specifications particularly regarding effect on production patterns and scheduling to maximise efficiencies
2.Communication
Liaise with other departments on and off site ensuring effective service and communication - Production, Commercial, Stores, Distribution and Technical.
Liaise with the Engineering Dept to ensure Preventative Maintenance Schedules are maintained and delivered to ensure targeted levels of line availability are met.
Liaise with sister sites to ensure best utilisation of resources, and ensuring the protection of CSL
- Stock control
Monitor stocks daily and react in a timely fashion to minimise waste.
Root cause and understand all deviations to the forecast resulting in over/under stocks and take appropriate corrective action to minimise the commercial impact to the business.

Hours of Work:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 6am - 2pm and Saturday & Sunday 6am - 4pm
Week 2: Tuesday - Friday 6am - 4pm
Week 3: Monday & Tuesday 6am - 4pm and Wednesday & Thursday 6am - 2pm
Essential Criteria: * Previous production/distribution/planning experience * Ability to work on own initiative * Communication and Organisational skills * Numerical Skills * Attention to detail * Flexibility in working hours * IT Literate - experience using Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Strong analytical skills
Desirable Criteria: * Working knowledge of ERP and MRP system.
