The Client: Local Government body based in Lisburn, serving local residents.

The Role:

Key Purpose of Job:

As a member of the Assets Team the post holder will be required to:

  • Carry out all maintenance, replacement and new works on all plumbing installations and heating systems located throughout properties including rural outbuildings
  • Contribute to the set up and break down of events, to include the provision of water supplies as required
  • At all times carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post, complying with all relevant Industry Regulations and established procedures, Health & Safety regulations and ensure that quality standards, work instructions and records in accordance agreed by the client are followed and maintained
  • The post holder may undertake additional duties relevant to the post as reasonably assigned by Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out response and planned plumbing and heating work on a day to day basis
  • To repair and maintain a wide range of plumbing and heating installations equipment/systems including grey water on properties
  • Assess jobs allocated by Building Maintenance Supervisor including materials & equipment as required
  • Responsible for ensuring that water systems comply with current relevant legionella approved code of practice (L8) and guidance on regulations
  • Liaise and work with other trades as required including outside contractors
  • Participate in any identified training courses, including refresher training to carry out the duties of the post
  • Apply best practice when working at heights including the use of scaffolding M.E.W.P's
  • Ensure all Health & Safety legislation and Health and Safety policies and procedures are complied with in relation to the service and activities within the facilities. Ensure work is carried out in strict compliance with all Health and Safety regulations including use of safety equipment and PPE.

  • Hours of work: 37 Hours per week, Mon- Fri

Requirements:

Essential:

Qualification:

  • Applicants must be qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds of NVQ Level 3 standard in Plumbing and Heating
  • Applicants must hold a J.I.B. advanced plumber certificate and CSCS registered

Experience:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years' post apprentice experience to include previous experience of electric, oil heating systems including installations servicing and fault finding repair work
  • It is desirable that applicants have:
  • Local Authority Experience in a Plumbing maintenance environment

Knowledge:

  • Have a wide knowledge and experience of Plumbing maintenance
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintenance in occupied properties including public conveniences

General:

  • Applicants must also hold a full current driving licence (C1)
  • It is desirable that applicants have a driving licence up to and including C1+E
