The Client: Local body based in Lisburn, serving local residents.
The Role:
- On a shift basis, and in line with Centre operational programme requirement undertake tasks including rotation of duties, staff cover, scheduling of meal breaks etc., in compliance with Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plans. Assist the manager on duty in monitoring the work of contracted cleaners and security contractors and reporting service failures.
- Assist with early opening/late closing of facility and key holding duties on a shift basis and in line with Centre programme requirements. Assist the manager on duty by supervising use of the facility by the public, ensuring provision of high standards of customer care, responding to customer complaints/queries, and directing these to the manager on duty as required. This will include:
- Assist with the smooth running of the Centre Mail room.
- Event/room setups and changeovers for all events within the Centre. Erect/dismantle/store equipment in line with Council's Manual Handling Procedures.
- Assist with Centre maintenance as directed together with appropriate record keeping.
- General cleaning duties of interior and exterior areas as directed. Operating machinery/equipment as required.
- Provide Reception/Telephone cover as required.
- Help ensure that all Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult legislation, published relevant guidelines and Council policies are complied with in the operation of the services and activities of the facility, to help ensure a safe environment for both customers and work colleagues.
- Help ensure that the very highest standards of health and safety for both customers and colleagues are maintained at all times and that all relevant statutory health and safety requirements and Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions are adhered to at all times.
Hours of work: 37 hrs per week
Requirements:
It is essential that applicants have a minimum of:
1.1 - A minimum of 12 months previous experience in a similar post with specific experience in at least four of the following areas:
- Reception
- Security
- Cleaning
- Mail Room
- Erecting, dismantling and storing equipment
- Maintenance work
1.2 - At least two years' experience in a similar post with specific experience in at least four of the following areas:
- Reception
- Security
- Cleaning
- Mail Room
- Erecting, dismantling and storing equipment
- Maintenance work

- Rates of Pay: £9.50 p/hr
