Principal Legal Officer
Role: BESL / Principal Legal Officer
Rate of Pay: £27.04
Location: Working from home
Duration: 3 months with possible extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37hrs per week
The post holder will be responsible for providing legal advice to the Department of Justice on its powers and duties.
They will join a small team of lawyers who are responsible for advising the Department of Justice and it's agencies -the Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service, the Northern Ireland Prison Service, the Forensic Science Agency and the Youth Justice Agency on a wide range of legal issues including some work on primary and secondary legislation.
The work is very varied and interesting and sometimes requires advice to be provided within short response times.
Ability to work independently when required
Experience of criminal justice matters would be an advantage.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Access NI Disclosure check at a cost of £18/£33 and further checks maybe required. Any information given will be treated in the strictest confidence.
