Principal Legal Officers
Staffline are working in partnership with the Northern Ireland Civil Service to recruit a range of temporary Principal Legal Officers to start ASAP for 6 months with possibility of extension.
Pay rate: £25.89 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Experience in either:
- Litigation or;
- Principal Legal Officer (Grade 7) or equivalent with experience in litigation particularly High Court, County Court Civil Litigation and preferably experience of insolvency litigation
- Principal Legal Officer (Grade 7) or equivalent with experience in conveyancing.
- With the minimum formal qualifications, the post holder would need to have a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience to perform these roles competently
- Reporting to a Grade 6 lawyer, the Grade 7 lawyer shall work as part of a team and shall individually manage a litigation case load of approximately 100 files, providing a litigation/conveyancing service to clients in accordance with court rules, taking instructions from clients, briefing Counsel and attending Court, providing legal advice to clients, managing time and resources in accordance with SLAs, recording hours worked to ensure recovery of client running costs from client Departments.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Access NI Disclosure check at a cost of £18/£33. A person's criminal record will not, in itself, debar that person from being appointed to this post. Any information given will be treated in the strictest confidence.
