Job description

Staffline Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with Moy Park, one of the UK's top 15 food companies, Northern Ireland's largest private sector business and one of Europe's leading poultry producers.
We are currently offering permanent role for Hatchery Operative in Randalstown Mill.
Responsibilities include:
  1. Blending/Pressing operation
  2. Micro bin filling
  3. Weighing of lorries
  4. Operation of carousels
  5. Yard duties
  6. Confined space bin/silo cleaning
  7. Maintaining high hygiene standards throughout Mill and premises
  8. Maintenance on equipment
  9. Grinder/rollermill maintenance and hygiene
  10. Changing filters
  11. Spraying
  12. First aid
  13. Cleaning/painting
  14. Operate fork truck, pallet truck, stacker, industrial scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker
  15. Highlight any problems with machinery to the maintenance team
  16. Ensuring all paperwork completed
  17. Enrober, boots and chutes maintenance
  18. Ensuring raw material, silos, carousel and finished product bins stocks are correct
  19. Stocktaking
  20. Cleaning of intake pits, weighers/mixers, coolers and under hoppers
  21. Ensuring all COSHH, Biosecurity, H/S and Environmental regulations are adhered to
  22. Prioritising and maintaining biosecurity controls on the site
  23. Any other duties that may be required by Management

Reporting Relationships/Social Conditions:

The Mill Operative works as a member of a team within the Mill, reporting to the production manager. Effective liaison, team working and interaction with other operatives and supervisory staff is essential.

Physical Conditions:

The job is performed in a warm mill environment and involves carrying out a physically active role. The employee is required to operate effectively as part of a team.

Competencies, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Previous experience in a production environment
  • Ability to operate a computerised production control system
  • Must be literate and numerate.
  • Must be able to think clearly.
  • Must be able to work as a team member.
  • Must have a positive attitude to work and others
  • Good manual dexterity is essential.
  • Good level of English is essential
  • Good time keeping is essential
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to work on own initiative is essential
  • The ability to organise and prioritise work is essential
  • Ability to solve problems essential
