Key Responsibilities

• Confidently lead and motivate assembly production team
• Drive and support department team leaders to ensure sufficient resources are available to achieve daily and weekly production targets ensuring quality standards and safe operating procedures are followed
• Liaise with Fabrication Supervisors, Engineering, Planning, Store and Quality department to ensure smooth running of the department
• Coordinate daily and weekly demands with the Paint line and Material Moving Team

• Drive and maintain high standards of housekeeping within Final Assembly area

• Maintaining discipline including time keeping, absence etc. of subordinates
• Ensures compliance with all company H & S policies and is responsible for all H &S issues on the shift
• Ensure all production transactions are accurately recorded on SAP
• Contribute to CI of the department
• Administration duties which include updating metrics, Time and Attendance system, Holiday planning etc.
• Manage and maintain consumables for the department

Experience and skills required

• Previous supervisory experience ideally gained in a medium/ large assembly manufacturing organisation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to motivate and engage with teams
• Experience working in unionised environment
• Excellent Planning & Organisation skills are essential for this role
• Practical continuous improvement experience (Lean/Six Sigma experience desirable)
• Driven to achieve targets (Daily/Weekly/Monthly)
• Ability to solve problems quickly and be flexible
• Ability to develop and motivate team members
• Experience using ERP Systems/ SAP is an advantage
• Strong IT skills (Word, Excel etc)
• Ability to make concise decisions under commercial pressures
