Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to work with one of the top food companies in Northern Ireland, based in Dungannon. Employing over 12,000 throughout their sites, they supply branded and own label products to leading retailers and food-service providers throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe

The Role:

As the Project Engineer your duties will include -

  • Initiate and assist with the design, costing, justification and implementation of various civil and process equipment projects on site
  • Work with site engineering and production teams at all levels
  • Manage suppliers and contractors through all project phases including specification, tender, build installation, commissioning and hand over
  • Produce specifications for purchase and negotiating purchase contracts with equipment/service suppliers
  • Investigate and emerge processes and technology to provide innovation and production efficiency improvements
  • Work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and legislation
  • Assist with annual update of significant impacts on environmental objectives
  • Document and investigate all environmental related incidents
  • Monitor and track spend against budget throughout all project phases and provide regular reports to Site Project Manager

Hours of work:

  • 40 hours weekly
  • Mon - Fri 8.30am - 5pm

Requirements:

The ideal Project Engineer will have

Essential

  • Previous experience in Project Management, Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering and Food Safety.
  • Detailed knowledge of utility and services installation
  • High degree of IT literacy
  • Robust and flexible approach

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering subject
  • Detailed engineering knowledge of modern food production processes in a continuous process environment
