Salary - £15,025 starting

Staffline Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a Pupil Assistant for our client, Camphill Community Glencraig based in the Holywood area, on a 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9am - 4pm on a permanent basis

Spread across 100 acres with breath-taking views and incredible facilities, Camphill Community Glencraig is a person-centred, therapeutic community where both children and adults with learning disabilities can live a meaningful life and develop to their full potential through a holistic creative approach.

The Job

  • You will be part of a team in providing the highest possible standard of educational support and care to pupils with disabilities and challenging behaviour, ranging in age from 13 years to 19 years

The Person

  • QCF Level 2 or equivalent OR 12 months relevant experience in an educational/care setting and an expectation that the QCF Level II or equivalent qualification will be gained within first 12 months of service
  • NISCC registered or agreeable to applying for registration
  • At least six months experience in a caring and / or educational support field, able to carry out physically and emotionally demanding work
  • Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour and ability to work under pressure, working with individuals with a disability
  • Knowledge of a range of learning disabilities and their effects
  • Awareness of a variety of strategies employed in working with those with complex needs
  • Effective communication skills, team working skills, caring & reliable
  • Able to take annual leave during school closures only
  • Willingness to undertake mandatory training and partake in personal development
  • Experience of multiagency or multi-disciplinary working
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to meeting the objectives of the job
