Purchasing Administrator - Dublin 24 - €40k

At Staffline Recruitment we have a super opportunity available for an experienced Purchasing Administrator to take up a permanent position with a marketing leading company based in Dublin 24.

Working as part of a team, the purpose of this role will be to plan and implement the day to day operations of procurement, purchasing and inventory management for a range of food products. The Purchasing Administrator will have responsibility for the ordering of stocked and non-stocked items, providing suppliers with purchase order numbers, and following up with suppliers / haulage companies on all delivery issues.

This role requires a candidate with excellent communication and relationship management skills as a key part of this position will involve working closely with the sales, commercial and warehouse team to ensure full stock availability without loss of customer service.

Key day to day duties will include:

  • Monitor and review minimum stock holdings against average sales analysis
  • Produce regular slow-moving stock reports, liaising with sales and commercial departments, ensuring that stock is moved through the system
  • Daily placement of purchase orders by supplier and / or manufacturer;
  • Participate in supplier meetings
  • Provide information to the warehouse team regarding delivery schedule and supplier / haulage company details
  • Reviewing product sales trends to assist the ordering process
  • Match supply and demand, investigating any variances
  • Create best before date reports and liaise with the sales team to push slow moving products through the warehouse
  • Follow up on all supplier non-conformances
  • Provide information to QA regarding supplier issues
  • Minimise stock outs and product write offs, whilst working very closely with warehouse personnel to ensure supplier performance is at the optimal level
  • Review inbound supply chain costs and use consolidation to take costs out
  • Negotiate rates with haulage companies and freight forwarders
  • Co-ordinate the inbound logistics operations with responsibility to improving supply chain efficiencies and reduce supply chain costs
  • Monitor sales, seasonal and promotional activities and customer buying trends

Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years' experience in inventory / purchasing / procurement
  • Be ambitious and willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong food back ground, candidates who can demonstrate experience in ordering fresh products will be at a distinct advantage.

  • Strong determination, resilience, and ability to influence
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Communications Skills
  • Strong I.T. skills particularly in Excel.
